Earth Day!
This is my first time I celebrated Earth Day with my kiddos! I
know, I know... :( - but we had a lot of fun! This wasn't our first
time discussing different ways to help save our planet so I pulled out
some stories we had read before that goes along with our Treasures
Reading Series. I used picture cards from the story "Bottle Village" to start a discussion on reusing
(Grandma Prisbrey built a whole village out of recycled material. We
also watched videos off of Ms. Settle's Vlog (I
love her website!). We read some more stories about how to reduce,
reuse, and recycle and started brainstorming different ways to become
more "green." Afterwards, the students did a little informational writing about keeping the Earth clean and a craftivity
"Earth Girl" and "Earth Boy."
